Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information
1. About Rawasi
Rawasi is a trade name operated by an individual service provider based in Egypt. Rawasi provides white-label Learning Management System (LMS) platforms to academies, tutors, and trainers. Rawasi is not a registered company at this time; all services are provided on an individual basis under Egyptian law.
2. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- Visitors to the Rawasi website (rawasi.app)
- Clients who subscribe to a Rawasi LMS platform (referred to as "LMS Owners")
- End users of any LMS platform built and hosted by Rawasi (students, instructors, and administrators)
3. Information We Collect
A. On the Rawasi Website (rawasi.app)
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics tools on our landing page. When you contact us (via WhatsApp or email), we collect only the information you voluntarily share, such as your name, contact details, and your LMS requirements.
B. On Client LMS Platforms
Each LMS platform we build for a client operates under the client's own domain and branding. Within those platforms, the following data is collected from end users:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Student progress, grades, and quiz results
- Files uploaded by students and instructors (assignments, materials, etc.)
C. Payment-Related Information
Rawasi handles payments in two ways:
- LMS Subscription Fees: Clients pay Rawasi directly for their LMS subscription (monthly or annually) via bank transfer (Instapay) or mobile wallet (Vodafone Cash). These transactions are conducted manually at this stage of operations. Rawasi does not store your full payment details; only records of the transaction amount and date are kept for accounting purposes.
- Course Payments on Client LMS Platforms: If an LMS Owner enables paid courses, student payments are processed through Kashier, a licensed Egyptian payment gateway. Rawasi collects these payments on behalf of the LMS Owner in its capacity as the platform's technical operator. Rawasi then disburses the collected amounts to the LMS Owner manually. Kashier's own privacy policy governs how payment card data is handled — Rawasi does not store card numbers or sensitive payment credentials.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To provision, operate, and maintain your LMS platform
- To communicate with you regarding your subscription, platform, or support requests
- To process payments and maintain basic financial records
- To disburse collected course revenues to LMS Owners
- We do not use your data for advertising, marketing to third parties, or any commercial purpose beyond operating your platform
5. Data Ownership
All data generated within an LMS platform — including user accounts, course content, student records, and uploaded files — belongs exclusively to the LMS Owner (the client who subscribed to that platform). Rawasi acts solely as a data processor and has no ownership claim over this data. Rawasi will not use, transfer, or disclose this data without the explicit written authorization of the LMS Owner, except as required by applicable Egyptian law.
6. Data Storage & Security
- All platform data is hosted on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) located in Europe, provided by Netcup.
- All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
- Passwords are stored using cryptographic hashing (not in plain text).
- Users may authenticate via email/password or Google Login (OAuth 2.0).
- Support conversations and WhatsApp communications are not stored on our servers.
- Rawasi implements reasonable technical measures to protect data but cannot guarantee absolute security against all threats.
7. Third-Party Services
Rawasi uses the following third-party services in its operations:
- Kashier — Payment processing for course purchases on client LMS platforms. Kashier is a licensed Egyptian payment service provider regulated by the Central Bank of Egypt. Their privacy policy applies to all payment transactions.
- Netcup — Server hosting (VPS) located in Europe. Data stored on this server is subject to Netcup's data processing terms.
- Google (OAuth) — Optional login via Google account. Google's privacy policy applies if this option is used.
Rawasi is not responsible for the data practices of these third-party providers. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
8. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may disclose data only in the following circumstances:
- With the LMS Owner, regarding their own platform's users (as part of platform management)
- With third-party service providers listed above, solely to the extent necessary to operate the service
- When required by Egyptian law, court order, or a competent governmental authority
9. Your Rights
Under Egyptian Consumer Protection Law No. 181/2018 and applicable data protection principles, you have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data held by Rawasi
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations
- Withdraw consent to data processing, where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12 below.
10. Data Retention
We retain client and platform data for as long as the subscription is active. Upon termination of the subscription, Rawasi will retain data for a reasonable period (not exceeding 30 days) to allow for potential data export requests, after which it will be permanently deleted unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by law.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Rawasi may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our operations, legal requirements, or business structure. The updated version will be posted on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
12. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, including the Consumer Protection Law No. 181/2018 and any applicable data protection regulations. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Egyptian courts.
